How to say no and ask the right questions
Hi all,
Happy end of winter! You should know this newsletter almost didn’t happen. I very unironically forgot my username and password, and had to go through several variations until I finally found the right one. The Gods of Spring smile upon us.
The month of February focused a lot around saying ‘no’ — or how I like to frame it, saying yes to the right things. I explored saying no with context, and also saying yes to Chat GPT a bit more (I still remain skeptical, but I will admit it’s pretty cool.)
Here are the blogs for last month!
As always, I hope you enjoy reading, and do please let me know what you think.
February Round-Up
✋ How to give timelines and say ‘no’
Yup, you guessed it! This one is about saying no, but with the right context. Product has often focused on teaching PMs to say no, which while not wrong, can lead to creating friction in relationships.
🎯 How to say ‘no’ when things don’t align with your product vision
Part two of the ‘how to say no’ series. Saying no isn’t a bad thing, specially when ideas are being thrown at you that don’t meet your product vision or strategy. Includes a template you can use! (Bonus: both posts do)
🤖 Will ChatGPT really change product management?
Another ChatGPT blog post - but this one isn’t about how great it is. I actually fear it will do more harm than good, especially for people overrelying on it to do their writing. While I do see many positive benefits, we also have to watch out for it becoming a crutch — especially when it comes to writing and communication.
See you next time!
