Feature factory vs PLG

A fun little Reddit thread popped up over the weekend. A young, aspiring PM asked what the difference was between a feature factory and PLG, and if they were the complete opposite.

This got me thinking…. are they? are they not? How can I simplify an answer?

After some thinking, I wrote my thoughts down:

Spoiler alert: they’re not actually on opposite ends of the spectrum; you can still fall into the trap in a PLG model.
